Television > Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Where can I find the User Guide for my Digital Set-top, Remote Control or Interact Program Guide?
A.
Yes, you can download them here. User Guides are PDF format. Adobe Reader is required to view PDF files.
Q. When I turn my TV on, it is one or two hours behind, why?
A.
If you pause a TV show, then come back one hour later and press play, your set-top will continue playing the station at one hour behind. To get back to current time press the "LIVE" button on your remote. Powering the set-top off and on will work, too.
Q. What is Digital Cable?
A. Digital Cable uses new technology to send Cable TV to your house. It allows us to send more channels, higher quality standard definition stations, as well as high-definition tv stations (HDTV). More information can be found at www.dtv.gov.
Q. Does this have anything to do with the upcoming National Digital TV Switch I've been hearing about on the radio/tv?
A. On February 17,2009, TV Stations will cease broadcasting in analog and switch to
all-digital signals. Analog TV sets not connected to cable, satellite, or other
Pay-TV Service (in other words, TVs that use an antenna or rabbit ears for over-the-air TV) will need a digital converter box after Feb 17. Analog-only TVs connected to MIDTEL CABLE’s Analog or Digital cable television service should continue to work after the transition and will not need a new converter box. Analog-only TVs also will continue to work as before to receive low-power, Class A or translator TV stations and with gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players and similar products. The federal government is offering discount coupons for viewers who need to purchase converter boxes for analog TV sets. More information on the DTV transition is available at www.DTV.gov or by contacting MIDTEL CABLE at 827-7777 or www.midtel.net. For discount coupons, visit www.dtv2009.gov or call
1-888-DTV-2009 (1-888-388-2009).
