I am not selling a book--I am selling a message.
And that message is my helping people help themselves by asking them three questions: Where are you now in your life? Where do you want to go with your life, i.e., what are your goals? And how are you going to get there--how are you going to meet your goals?
In my 33-year professional career as a Cornell University Cooperative Extension Specialist, I helped improve the lives of thousands of people.
After I retired in 1991 there was a void. I was no longer helping people. But now I am continuing my legacy of helping people through my book Never Say Can't: How Never Saying "I Can't" Can Lead to Success .
In my 216-page paperback I have 38 chapters. Each chapter has a message which documents how I overcame poverty, living with an abusive alcoholic father, and doing the work on our farm which left no room for extracurricular activities in grammar and high school. Through shear will and determination, I graduated from Cornell, had a successful 33-year career, and have been able to travel and explore all 50 states and 35 foreign countries, all of which I detail in my book.
I believe that through my wit and sense of humor I prove that success is possible, and I offer the inspiration necessary to carry the most skeptical readers towards their goals.
