Rules & information
for the top 100 Creative Web Sites What
are the rules for this list? Rules
2) Your account
email address must be valid. 3) Your site must
be your own work, created by you and you alone. 4) Your site should
have content that is creative, be it in writing or images. It should show excellent
design and have a look that is creative and interesting. Sites with poetry and
artwork are always welcome as long as the site is also appealing to the eye.
5) If your site
is written in a language other than English, you must have a version of your
site written in English too. Please note that having a link to online translation
services is not good enough. 6) Your site must
be more then one page and cannot be a site of links only. 7) Your site should
be well maintained - broken images and links are not creative. 8) The top 10
web sites will have their banner displayed. 9) Banners must
be NO more than 500 pixels wide. 10) If you use
a banner on the list it must have a valid link address - this includes checking
that your webhost supports outside linking to graphics (see
FAQ below). If a broken image shows you will have a few days to fix the
problem otherwise the list owners will delete the banner URL. 11) You may only
vote for your own site once in a 24 hour period! 12) List members
may decide at any time that a site does not belong on the list. If the list
owners receive more than 3 emails from different members (which give good reasons
for deletion), the site owner will be notified and the site removed from the
list. They will be invited to join again after changes have been made to their
site. 13) Only one list
entry per site is permitted. If your site is listed more then once, you must
login to 'Statistics' and delete the duplicates! 14) This list
will take no more sites after it reaches 100 members. 15) You
must display a voting link on your site. You may use the Top 100 Creative
Web Sites icons at the top of this page or use a text link. If you choose
to use a text link it must contain the name of this list (Top 100 Creative
Web Sites) and it must be clear to your visitors that they will be placing
a vote for your site. Web sites that do not have the top 100 voting code
on their site will be deleted. New sites: You must place the voting
link on your site before your site will show up on this list. Common questions
Can
I add my site? What
is a top creative website? "The owner of
a creative site must put a lot of time and effort into their site, be it in
design or content - if both then the better the site will be. More is not always
better, what you, the owner create on your own is what makes for a unique site.
If your site stands out from others, then it will be voted right to the top
of this list!" Can
I add a banner or picture to my listing? My
banner address is correct but it's showing as a broken link. Why? What
is Site of the moment? How
can people vote for my site? Can
I put the voting link on all the pages of my website? Where
do I get the voting code to put on my website? I've
forgotten my ID and password. Can I get these again? How
do I get the Top 100 Creative Web Site icon on my website? Can
I vote for my own web site? How
does the IP matching system work? 'In addition,
IPs are tracked on per action, per ID. Meaning, you can vote for an ID,
rate it, and then go to another ID and each of those actions will count
once per ID. Before this update, you could only do one action per day.'
How
often do the votes update? Why
did my number of votes go down?
Can
I update my site description and banner? If
you have any comments, questions or suggestions please let us know.

vulgar.
If you have a top creative website, yes - but hurry spaces are limited. We are
only accepting 100 members. Until then, simply click the 'Add Your Site' link at the top and bottom of the list page.
List creator Linda Imaginee says: "I believe a creative site to be an inspiring
place where you can feel the creativity flowing throughout the entire web site!
When I began this list I wanted a place for sites which are creative to the
point of being the most unique of their kind on the internet.
Yes. Your banner must be on the internet. Upload your banner to your web site
host, then place the banner's address in your members account. You can access
your members account via the link at the bottom of the page 'Statistics'.
Some hosts, such as Tripod, Angelfire, Geocities or Homestead, do not allow
outside linking to graphics.
Please note that, as per rule 10, it is up to you to make sure your banner link
is valid. If a broken image link shows the list owners will delete the image
link.
Site of the moment is a site from the list randomly selected by the MyTopSiteList
system. It updates each time you visit the list page.
There are two ways for people to vote for your site: clicking on the special link which you put on your website, and having someone click your link on the list.
You may place your voting link on as many pages as you like - your main page
is always a good place to start.
When you first sign up you receive an email with a link to the page where your voting code is. The code is also available
by clicking on 'Voting Code' at the top and bottom of the list page
and entering your ID number and password.
You received an email when you joined the list with your ID and password. If
you don't have it anymore, click on 'Lost ID/Password' - Enter the email address you signed up with and your username and password will be sent to your email address immediately.
Right click on the Top 100 Creative Web Site icons and choose 'Save picture
as' to save it to your hard drive. Then upload the icon to your own web site
server. DO NOT LINK DIRECTLY TO THE TOP 100 IMAGES.
Absolutely - but only once in a 24-hour period! There is an IP matching
system in place checking for multiple votes from the same source.
Sophisticated anti-cheatings mechanisms
Prevent fradulent voting methods such as hidden frames and automatic voting robots through gateways and IP matching.
MyTopSiteList.com advanced technology updates all rankings dynamically in real-time, so you will always get the latest and as-it-happens content.
If you check the list frequently you may notice a site's vote count go
up and then back down. Don't be alarmed! This is simply the IP matching
system (see above) stripping out duplicates. Genuine
votes will not be affected. (Please note that if you do see someone's
votes go down this does not necessarily mean the site owner made the duplicate
votes - it could be an enthusiastic admirer!)
Yes, click on 'Statistics' at the bottom of the list page - enter your ID and password to view your stats and information. You can
change your details or the link to your banner.
