Hiawatha Wampum belt represents the founding of the Iroquois Confederacy. The center image stands for the council fire which is held by the Onondaga Nation by Syracuse New York. The end squares represent the Mohawk in the East and the Seneca in the West of New York State who are the Doorkeepers. The Oneida nation is next to the Mohawk and the Cayuga are next to the Seneca. The white beads represent “peace, love, charity and equity” |
