J&J Racing was unofficially formed in late 1992 when Scott Becker and his two sons Jason and Jim were at a local racetrack. As it were common at end of the season races, there were cars running that were for sale. The two boys got the idea they would like to try the sport they loved, asked their father, he agreed, and that Fall they purchased a car.
The first year was spent sharing a car between the two drivers as they learned to race. Both Jim and Jason did well enough to add another car in 1994, and J&J Racing was officially formed. Both drivers climbed the ranks in classes to the top class, Modifieds, and learned their trade at many tracks throughout New York State, as well as Vermont Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
