Mar-Koet 5000 System Description:

The Mar-Koet 5000 Waterproofing System is a tested and proven total waterproofing system. Mar-Koet 5000 is spray applied by manufacturer certified and trained applicators throughout the United States.

Mar-Koet 5000 System Components:

The Mar-Koet 5000 Waterproofing System consists of two components: Mar-Koet 5000 waterproofing membrane, and one of the Mar-Flex Drainage and Protection Boards.

Mar-Koet 5000 is a fortified elastomeric membrane that can be applied over any substrate. It’s permanent elasticity allows it to move with created expansion and contraction of wall surfaces. Mar-Koet 5000 won’t become brittle, evaporate or loose its waterproofing ability. This permanent membrane resists water and freeze-thaw cycles. Mar-Koet 5000 has been proven to outlast conventional methods. Mar-Koet 5000 is recommended for waterproofing basement walls and can be applied over most any wall, poured or masonry.

Mar-Koet 5000 has been evaluated for compliance with the requirements of the BOCA® National Building Code, “See BOCA Evaluation Services, Inc. Research Report No. 95-1.”

Mar-Koet 5000 Uses/Applications:

The durable film bonds tightly to most clean, firm and dry surfaces. Mar-Koet 5000 is recommended also as a waterproofing and general utility coating on post, piling and metal surfaces.

Mar-Flex Drainage Boards:

DRAIN & DRY BOARD is a semi-rigid thermal insulation board made from inorganic glass fibers, preformed into boards, and bonded by a thermal setting resin.

DRAIN & DRY BOARDS are intended for use in conjunction with the Mar-Koet 5000 waterproofing membrane. The boards are to be applied shortly after spray application of the waterproofing and prior to back-fill.

MAR-FLEX DRAINAGE BOARDS have excellent thermal efficiency and add insulating value to the foundation walls of any structure. They are available in ranges of thermal value (R 3.1 – R 10.4) to meet the needs of builders, energy conscious homebuyers, and/or local building codes.

Dampproofing Vs. Waterproofing:

Dampproofing isn’t the same as waterproofing. Dampproofing at best is little more than a vapor barrier. It retards water penetration but will not bridge shrinkage cracks or stop water leakage under hydrostatic pressure. Dampproofing may not be durable and, over time, can disappear. The truth is: even with a good drainage system, dampproofing can’t assure a dry basement wall.
