LISTENING STRATEGIES
- Identify the purpose for listening.
- Maintain eye contact with the speaker.
- Observe and interpret non-verbal clues such as tone of voice, gestures and facial expressions.
- Pay attention to audio-visual aids such as filmstrips, cassettes, maps and charts.
- Focus on key words or phrases.
- Tune out other sounds and noises.
- Relate the information currently being given to what you know from earlier learning.
